So that’s it over for 2013. With the exception of all the leftovers and excessive amounts of chocolate and other goodies, Christmas is done. Santa has been.

This year was a good one for Little J and I. Little M is approaching 2-and-a-half and whilst she doesn’t completely understand the concept of Christmas, Santa and all that it entails, she was WAY more excited at getting loads of presents than she was last year. It’s safe to say that Little M is a little spoiled. Not by my wife and I, but by everyone else. Grandparents, aunts and uncles, the lot. There were 2 star presents this year: this nice little kitchen from Ikea and a Dyson vacuum cleaner. These are getting so much more attention than the rest of the presents she got, but everything is being played with A LOT. In fact, there’s so much kitchen time, I’m even getting to play GTA V!

This Christmas has given us a lot more time to be together as a family. There hasn’t been quite so much nightshift, and because Christmas fell midweek this year, it’s meant we’ve had the weekend AND the midweek together, and that’s just great. I talked a little about how shiftwork sucks a few weeks ago, so this makes up for it a little. Christmas is a time for family, and I’ve embraced that to its fullest this year.
